Pronounced keen-wah, this nutty flavoured grain is a complete protein containing all 8 essential amino acids; making it what they call a “super food”. Dating back thousands of years to the incas, it seems we’re finally catching on!
Black Quinoa is largely the same as the more common white quinoa. However the real advantage is the ability to maintain its striking colour whilst holding its shape better when cooked. Black Quinoa also tends to be sweeter with an earthier flavour.
How To use it
Quinoa can be boiled in much the same way you would prepare rice. Once cooked, the grains quadruple in size with a fluffy texture. Rinse before cooking to remove outer coating.
