Pronounced keen-wah, this nutty flavoured grain is a complete protein containing all 8 essential amino acids; making it what they call a “super food”. Dating back thousands of years to the incas, it seems we’re finally catching on!
Red Quinoa is largely the same as the more common white quinoa; however the real advantage being that it boasts a more vibrant colour whilst holding its shape slightly better when cooked. Uses span to pretty much any recipes where rice can be used, simply substitute the quinoa in its place and enjoy the feel good factor of eating a Superfood.
How To use it
Quinoa can be boiled in much the same way you would prepare rice. Once cooked, the grains quadruple in size with a fluffy texture. Rinse before cooking to remove outer coating.
